Don't miss coffee hour after Sunday services.  Enjoy a cup of joe (and occasionally a slice of celebratory cake) and strike up a conversation.  If you're shy, don't worry.  You can browse the books in our bookstore—a member is bound to say hello to you!

Browse the calendar for things to do during the week—from special-interest groups to neighborhood potlucks, there's something for everyone!

Take an adult RE class or join in some intergenerational fun with our children's programming.  Whether you're new to UUism or just new to First Unitarian, sign up for the next introduction to UU class, where you'll meet other new folks and learn about our denomination and church.  (Email the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. And make sure to sign up for our weekly e-newsletter, Happenings, and our monthly print newsletter, The Beacon.  And of course bookmark this site—for up-to-the-moment details on what's happening at First Unitarian.

As a diverse congregation united by core values, we come from various religious, ethnic, and racial backgrounds. All people are valued here. As individuals and as a congregation, we benefit from our differences.

Unsure about Unitarian Universalism? Answer some questions at BeliefNet to find out what religion fits you best. The good folks at the Welcome Table in the Parish Hall can answer your questions and offer some free literature. Also, sign up for a Beginnings Class to get a real feel for who UUs are. (Ask about the class at the Welcome Table or check the calendar.)

And don't forget to check out past sermons and newsletters.

Our church was established in 1817 and is a Baltimore landmark. Discover the rich history: read more or take a church tour.

First Unitarian Church of Baltimore is located on the corner of Charles and Franklin Streets in the heart of Baltimore's Mount Vernon District.  The Enoch Pratt Parish Hall is on Charles Street, directly behind the main building.

From September through June, services are held at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary.  In July and August, services begin at 10:00 a.m. and are held in the Enoch Pratt Parish Hall.  Check the calendar for service themes.

Our buildings and services are accessible to all, with amplified headphones, large print hymnals and bulletins, Braille hymnals, elevator and ramp, and retrofitted accessible restroom. If you have accessibility questions, please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

The Franklin Street garage across from the sanctuary's front entrance offers free parking on Sundays until 1:00 pm.  (The charge is $1 per hour thereafter, with a maximum of $4.  There is 2-hour free parking on Cathedral Street. (Meters do not have to be fed on Sundays.)

An usher will give you a nametag as you enter the Sanctuary, or you can pick one up at the Welcome Table in the Enoch Pratt Parish Hall during coffee hour.

We are as diverse in our attire as we are in our beliefs. Jeans, dresses, or three-piece suits -- be comfortable!

Children and infants are always welcome in our services. There is a Children's Corner in the back of the sanctuary. Here, little ones can play quietly, color and look at picture books. A nursery, staffed by an experienced caregiver, is available for babies and toddlers (through age 2). Children 3 and older are welcome to join our Sunday school classes or Youth Group (even if you are just visiting). These take place during church services.
